Hotel internships are an eye opener because you will become aware of the difference between working in a hotel and studying hotel management subjects in your college. It does not matter how much practical sessions and experience you have gained while you are in college, hotel life will be more challenging for you. 
There can be times when you will get tired and bored with the same work you do every day. The work may get dirtier and disgusting sometimes but the continuous pressure on your head by your supervisor will make you finish the work but with a negative approach. Step 1- Planning your internship

Hospitality is a practical industry and internships gives a chance to experience this practicality. In most colleges, it is optional to go for internships during every holiday but in my view, a smart student should go for some kind of internship during those holidays. This will give them a chance to skip out all those departments in which a student is not interested in working, while their final 6 month internships which is made compalsary by the college.
